Pure Waterjet Cutting for Sensitive Materials
Pure waterjet cutting is a particularly material-friendly waterjet cutting process that operates without the use of abrasive additives. A finely focused high-pressure waterjet cuts soft to moderately firm materials precisely, cleanly, and virtually burr-free.
This method is ideal wherever sensitive materials, flexible fabrics, or thin workpieces need to be processed.
Pure Waterjet Cutting for Sensitive Materials
In pure waterjet cutting, purified tap water is compressed to up to approx. 4,000 bar using a high-pressure pump. The water then exits through a fine sapphire nozzle, reaching speeds of up to 2.5 times the speed of sound.
Since no abrasive material is used, the cutting process is particularly gentle and does not cause material wear from abrasive particles.
